About the Film

Ten years after his “big break” in Sling Blade Tim Holder’s career is going nowhere. He believes one man is responsible for his pain: Billy Bob Thornton!

“There’s a poignant edge to this tender comedy…” - Philip Martin from his column On Film (May 11, 2007)

About the Filmmakers

It began with three friends having dinner. Tim Holder, Tim Jackson and Theba Lolley were chatting about the movie business over salads and pizza at one of their favorite Little Rock haunts. The idea struck them to create a film based on Holder’s and Lolley’s experiences on the film “Sling Blade” – focusing on Tim Holder’s role and his subsequent film career --- or lack thereof.

Jackson called Josh Miller (his business partner and co-owner of Category One Entertainment Group) and pitched the idea. The core team was in place as soon as Josh said, “Let’s do it!”

From that moment forward it was the desire of the Producers to pay homage to “Sling Blade” in the look and feel of the film while having some fun by playing up the invention of a long-held grudge by Holder against Billy Bob Thornton. The Producers also wanted to use “Where’s My Close-up…” as a means to encourage filmmaking in their home state. They accomplished this by tapping homegrown professional talent both for cast and crew as well as bringing on newcomers. The result is a film of warmth and humor realized by the efforts of passionate, dedicated filmmakers.
